Equal opportunities – our policy
Here at TI Security, we employ a number of staff members working in our Leeds office and also many installation specialists who work on-site to provide our services to our clients across the UK. As an employer, we take our legal responsibilities seriously, and comply with all relevant elements of the Equalities Act 2010.
In order to ensure that we meet all compliance issues in regards to equal opportunities, we’ve devised a comprehensive policy, the details of which are overseen by our Managing Director, Richard Samwell, further supported and upheld by all TI Security team members.
In accordance with the Equalities Act 2010, we are 100% committed to treating all of our employees, job applicants and interviewees in a completely fair manner, regardless of:
- Sexual orientation
- Marital status
- Ethnic or national origin
- Union membership
We conduct regular reviews on our practices and policies to ensure that we continue to act within our legal obligations, and the above anti-discrimination factors are carried through all aspects of our recruitment activities, including salaries, employment T&Cs, promotion opportunities and training.
Security industry apprenticeships in Leeds
With our extensive knowledge and expertise across the residential and commercial security sector, TI Security in Leeds is well placed to offer an on-the-job training platform for young, local people who wish to learn a new skill via an apprenticeship.
Investing in people is vital if we’re to help the next generation build careers and pass on essential skills for the benefit of all. With this in mind, we’re proud to announce that we were one of the first 3 companies to offer apprenticeships via the Government-backed national award scheme, ‘100 in 100’.
Endorsed by Conservative MP and Minister of State for Further Education, John Hayes, we’re delighted to be an approved provider of these fantastic apprenticeships, developed to place 100 apprentices in the security sector in 100 days. You can learn more about our involvement in the apprenticeship scheme here.
Apprentice Skills Challenge
We train our apprentices through a combination of real work experience and college courses, and have had our fair share of success stories, including a ‘Skills for Security’ winner at the Engineers of Tomorrow competition (the Apprentice Skills Challenge) in 2011.
We’re also proactive when it comes to the environment – you can learn more on our CSR and green credentials page.
