PCI DSS

TI Security can help you meet your PCI DSS requirements

The Payment Card Industry’s Data Security Standard applies to retailers and any businesses that operate or handle card payment data. If you take debit and credit card payments such as Visa, Visa Debit, Mastercard etc this will apply to your company.

Accidental loss or theft of sensitive card payment data is a serious matter and can damage your business reputation as well as exposing your customer or client to risk.

To comply with the standard, your organisation will need to put documented and applied procedures in place, carry out staff training and implement physical and electronic security measures. When determining the risk and likely vulnerabilities of your existing and proposed processes, it’s vital that you consult with the standard to ensure full compliance.

The PCI DSS standards cover electronic, physical, and personnel security in relation to passwords, malware, software development, risk assessment and penetration testing.

In January 2014 PCI DSS standards version 3 was released with an implementation end date of 31st December 2014. Click on this link to download a full copy of the PCI DSS Standard Version 3

Within the PCI DSS standards there is clear requirement to address the physical security of terminals, routers and other hardware and data storage.

Always bear in mind that this standard and other rules and regulations are fairly static and that criminals and those wishing to cause harm to your company and clients are dynamic and constantly evolving. Attackers will continually look to exploit existing and new loopholes within this changing environment.

TI Security can provide expert advice to your organisation and specify secure access control systems for your data centres, server rooms and other sensitive areas including research and development.

Whether you require a networked proximity or swipe card system, biometric hand or fingerprint recognition or a combination of both, TI Security can provide a solution. Dependant on security levels required, systems can be designed and installed to match any scenario.

Example system configurations:

Security Level 1 – Access Control with one type of identification

  • Access Control – Entry via proximity reader or biometric reader (hand reader or fingerprint).
  • Uncontrolled – Exit via push to exit button.
  • Optional – Emergency release via resettable break glass point and/or fire alarm link and interfacing for automatic unlocking.

Security Level 2 – Access Control with two types of identification

  • Access Control – Entry via proximity reader and biometric reader (hand or fingerprint) combined.
  • Uncontrolled – Exit via push to exit button.
  • Optional – Emergency release via resettable break glass point and/or fire alarm link and interfacing for automatic unlocking.

Security Level 1 or 2 – Controlled exit

  • Access Control – Entry via Proximity Reader or Biometric / Combined Biometric & Proximity Reader.
  • Access Control – Exit via Proximity Reader or Biometric / Combined Biometric & Proximity Reader.

System Features & Options

Roll call – Whether carrying out a test fire alarm or emergency evacuation or the real thing, automatically send a list of all persons within the building / compound / site to your iPhone, Android PDA to allow simple roll calling at agreed emergency and fire activation meeting points.

Safe and secure event logging and audit trail accessible via your network or remotely.

TI Security can:

  • Retrofit electronic locking systems to any type of swing door, automatic swing and sliding door and full and half height turnstile system.
  • Provide full height turnstiles to suit any room size constraints including powder coating to match corporate or room colour schemes, galvanised turnstiles for outdoor installation, stainless steel turnstiles for more challenging environments such as food production and coastal locations.
  • Provide airlock style access control, requiring entry door to be closed before secondary entry door can be unlocked.

Locking systems – Magnetic Lock, Maglocks, Electric Releases, Solenoid Bolts, Motorised Locks

Our range of electronic locking systems can be retrofitted to existing doors and frames. Our security consultants will assess and take into account the levels of pedestrian traffic, their frequency and the degree of lock strength required at each door or turnstile.

Data centres, server rooms and other such sensitive areas.
